that they're not content with just having one elite quarterback on their roster.

According to BetOnline, the Chiefs are the betting favorite to land Wentz, with odds of +300, ahead of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Las Vegas Raiders, and several other teams.

The move would make sense for Kansas City, who are in need of a backup quarterback behind their superstar starter Patrick Mahomes.

With veteran Chad Henne announcing his retirement after the Super Bowl,

the Chiefs are left with only seventh-round pick Chris Oladokun as their other quarterback option for the 2023 season.

Henne was called upon during the playoffs in 2020 when Mahomes suffered an ankle injury, and he performed admirably in his relief role.

But with Henne's retirement, the Chiefs need a new backup quarterback who can step in and keep the team competitive should anything happen to Mahomes.

Wentz could be the perfect candidate for the job. Though he had a disappointing 2021 season with the Commanders,

throwing for just 1,755 yards and 11 touchdowns, he has a proven track record of success in the NFL.

He spent his first five seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, leading the team to a Super Bowl victory in 2017 and earning a Pro Bowl nod in 2017 and 2019.

If the Chiefs were to sign Wentz, they would be getting a quarterback with plenty of experience and talent,

who could step in and lead the team if Mahomes were to go down with an injury. And with the odds in their favor, it seems like Kansas City might be the team to make that happen.
